What you need.

  • CAFEC Deep 27 Dripper
  • Abaca+ Deep 27 paper filter
  • Cup or a small server
  • Kitchen scale
  • Coffee grinder
  • Kettle

Set up, step by step.

Do this once before your first brew. When you're ready, the matching brew guide takes over with a live, guided timer.

  1. Boil the kettle Heat a little extra water to 93°C so you can rinse the filter and warm your cup.
  2. Weigh 10g of coffee and grind it Use a medium grind as your starting point.
  3. Place your cup or server on the scale The Deep 27 is designed for a small single cup.
  4. Place the Deep 27 on your cup or server Check that the curved base sits level and secure.
  5. Insert the dedicated Deep 27 filter Use the dedicated paper so it contacts the narrow walls evenly.
  6. Rinse the filter and warm the brewer Wet the whole paper with a gentle centre pour.
  7. Discard the rinse water Keep the brewer steady as you empty the cup, then return it to the scale.
  8. Add the coffee and level the bed Gently shake the brewer so the coffee settles evenly in the deep cone.
  9. Turn on the scale and tare it to 0g Make sure your scale is set to grams before you begin.
  10. You’re all set! Press "Done" to start. Aim to finish between 1:45 and 2:15. If it drains sooner, grind a little finer next time. If it runs later, grind a little coarser.
